This is Arts & Above’s newest venture to support and inspire creative work in the NOW for choreographers at ALL Stages in their careers. Bringing mentorship, production resources, community support, AND for this iteration, malleable ORIGINAL sound scores by Arts & Above’s Bruno Augusto as a landscape. Parallel Obscura concludes a 10-week creation process by professional choreographers from the Missoula region and beyond.

Parallel Obscura is an intimate, dynamic, and unique live performance event featuring original contemporary dance and music as the genesis.
Co-curated by San Francisco-based Director/Choreographer/Producer Joe Landini and Arts & Above’s Kate Jordan Augusto. With rich sound scores and poetry by Arts & Above’s Bruno Augusto as the connecting landscape, and live music and video by Paul Lenihan, these performances celebrate and expose the depth of human movement and music at the individual level and collective.

These workshops lead towards a group performance opportunity, choreographed by Joe Landini from San Francisco, in collaboration with dance and music artists from Arts & Above. Performing is optional.
All workshops are part of our “Parallel Obscura” creation and performance program. Recommended for Intermediate - Professional level movers.
